What is lift, really, and how is it different from support? We’ll sort it out, then show you some of our designers’ top picks when it comes to lifting bras.

Lift and support aren’t the same thing

Lift 
Not every bra does this. It lifts your bust for a higher silhouette, which helps especially if your breasts are softer or sit a little lower.


Support 
Every bra gives support. It keeps your breasts close to your body, so there’s less bounce when you move.

Firm cups 
Cups in non-stretch fabric or with light padding hold their shape, so they don’t give way under the weight of your bust.

Underwire 
Underwire spreads weight toward the sides, while lifting and separating your breasts.
